APPLE WALNUT CINNAMON BREAD 
Step 1:

4 dry yeast
1 tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. warm water

Mix the yeast plus sugar in warm water. Let set until bubbly.

Step 2:

1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening

Warm in microwave.

Step 3:

3 eggs
2 tart apples, peeled and chopped
2 tbsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. walnuts

Mix warm liquids together. Add the eggs, apples, cinnamon and walnuts.

Step 4:

6 1/2 to 7 c. flour

Add the flour; first 3 to 4 cups, then remainder. Go by feel, not sticky. Use balance of flour if needed. Should be smooth. (I toss chopped apples/walnuts with a little cinnamon, flour and sugar to coat.)

Let rise to double under damp cloth. Knead. Form into 3 loaves. Let rise high again.

Bake at 350°F for 1/2 hour, then at 325°F for 1/2 hour. Baste hot loaves with butter. Cool and store.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
