TURTLE CAKE | |
1 box German chocolate cake mix 1 (14 oz.) bag caramels 1/2 c. evaporated milk 1/2 c. butter, melted 2 c. pecans, divided 1 c. chocolate chips Prepare the cake mix using package directions. Pour half the batter into a greased 9 x 13 inch cake pan and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Melt caramels with evaporated milk and butter in saucepan over low heat stirring constantly. Pour over baked cake. Sprinkle with 1 cup of pecans and the chocolate chips. Pour remaining cake batter over the filling and sprinkle remaining 1 cup pecans over batter. Bake an additional 20 minutes. |
