TURTLE CAKE 
1 box German chocolate cake mix
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. evaporated milk
14 oz. bag caramels
1 c. pecans, chopped
1 c. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix cake as directed on box. Pour half of batter into greased and floured, 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake 12 to 15 minutes until done.

Melt butter, caramels and milk. (Do this before mixing cake.) Melt in double boiler. Pour over hot cake. Sprinkle 3/4 cup nuts and all chocolate chips on caramel. Add remaining batter; sprinkle nuts on top. Bake 20 minutes. Cool slightly. Cut into squares. Adjust time to your own oven.
