SHORTBREAD COOKIE CUT-OUTS | |
1 lb. sugar 1 lb. butter, softened 2 eggs, separated plus 2 whole eggs 2 1/4 lbs. flour 1 tsp. salt Sugar for garnish Cookie cutters In a large mixing bowl, beat sugar with the butter. Gradually add the egg yolks and the whole eggs, one at a time, beating well. Add flour and salt and mix until a soft dough forms. Form dough into a ball, wrap in waxed paper, and chill at least 1 hour. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Roll out dough on a floured surface and cut with cookie cutters. Place cookies on an ungreased cookie sheet. Brush with the egg white and sprinkle with sugar. Bake 10 minutes until golden brown. Awesome! |
