TURTLE CAKE 
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 c. oil
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
Chopped pecans
1 (1 lb.) pkg. caramels

FROSTING:

1/2 c. butter
3 tbsp. cocoa powder
6 tbsp. evaporated milk
1 (1 lb.) pkg. powdered sugar, sifted
1 tbsp. vanilla

Combine chocolate cake mix, butter, water, oil and 1/2 can of sweetened condensed milk in mixing bowl. Mix well. Pour 1/2 of batter into greased and floured 13x9 pan. Bake at 350 degrees 20-25 minutes.

Melt and mix together caramels and remaining condensed milk over low heat until smooth. Spread over baked cake layer.

Sprinkle generously with chopped pecans. Cover with remaining cake batter. Return to oven and bake 25-35 minutes longer or until cake tests done. Cool. Spread with frosting.

Note: Since cake is very sweet, cut it into very small servings.
