STEW LIKE GRANDPA LOVED 
4 qts. water
1 1/2 - 2 lbs. stew meat (cut to lg. bite size)
2 cans diced tomatoes
1 lg. onion
Salt to taste
2 lg. potatoes, cut into chunks

Salt water (it takes more than you think). Add meat and onion. Bring to a rolling boil about 15 minutes. Add tomatoes. Simmer until meat is tender, approximately 1 1/2 hours. You may need to add water. Add large potato chunks. Boil until tender. Serve with cornbread and cheese slices. Option: Replace potatoes with one can of drained sauerkraut.
