CREAMY CHEDDAR CHOWDER 
2 c. boiling water
2 c. diced potatoes
1/2 c. chopped carrots
1/2 c. finely chopped broccoli
1/4 c. chopped onions
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. butter
1/3 c. flour
2 c. milk
2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1 c. cubed cooked ham (optional)

Add water to potatoes, carrots, broccoli, onions, salt and pepper. Cover; simmer 10 minutes. Do not drain.

Make white sauce with flour, butter and milk. Add shredded cheese; stir until melted. Add ham and undrained vegetables. Heat; do not boil. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
