CRULLERS 
4 c. flour, sifted
4 eggs, beaten
2 tbsp. butter, melted
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 sm. glass rum (1 oz.) or 1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. sweet cream

Mix all ingredients together very well, to make a thin dough. Cut into squares or triangles after rolling out. Make a slit in the center of each one and pull one end through the slit to look like a knot. Deep fry these in hot shortening until delicately browned. When done, drain on brown paper and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
