UNCOOKED STRAWBERRY JAM | |
3 c. crushed strawberries 5 c. sugar 1 c. water 1 pkg. powdered fruit pectin Measure berries into large bowl. Add sugar, mix well, and let stand for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Dissolve pectin in water and bring to a boil for 1 minute. Add this mixture to berries and stir for 2 minutes. Ladle jam into freezer containers or jars leaving 1/2 inch space at top. Cover and let stand for 24 hours or until jam is set. Will keep in freezer for 1 year. Makes about 7 half pints. |
