DATE-NUT PINWHEELS 
Date Mixture:

2 1/4 c. chopped dates
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 c. chopped nuts

Cook dates, sugar, water. Add nuts when cool.

Dough:

1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Combine all ingredients for dough. Roll dough out and spread with date mixture. Roll up in pinwheel. Place in wax paper. Leave in refrigerator overnight. Slice, then bake in 350°F oven until lightly browned.
