HOMEMADE BREAD 
2 pkg. active dry yeast
3 c. warm water
2/3 c. shortening, melted and cooled
1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
8-9 c. flour

In large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let set 10 minutes. Add shortening, sugar, salt, and half of flour. Stir with wooden spoon until well mixed. Then add rest of flour and knead until all flour is worked in. Cover and let rise until double in bulk. Grease pans; shape into rolls or loaves. Let rise until double in size. Bake at 325 degrees until golden brown.
