SELF RISING FLOUR SUBSTITUTE | |
Version I: 2 c. sifted cake flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt Sift the above together and use as self rising flour. This is equal to 2 cups of self-rising flour and is best used when making cakes and fruit breads. Version II: 1 cup unsifted all purpose flour 1 1/2 teaspoons double acting baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt This is equal to 1 cup of self-rising flour and is best used when making quick breads, scones, biscuits and cookies. |
