HOT AND SOUR SOUP WITH SHRIMP 
This soup can be made with chicken as well as shrimp. It is a great soup for when you have a cold. It can be served as a main meal or as an appetizer.

1 stick butter
3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp. black pepper
1 1/2 tbsp. oregano
1 tbsp. Italian spices
2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
2 tsp. salt
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp. chili powder
4 lemons, juiced - 2 sliced
3 lbs. raw shrimp, shelled or unshelled - depends on your guests
1 can straw mushrooms
1 onion, sliced
1 can bamboo shoots
1 can water chestnuts
1 can whole tomatoes or 2 tomatoes, chopped
2-3 c. water

1. Mix all ingredients except shrimp. Bring to a boil. Add shrimp. Cook 10 minutes or until shrimp are pink and firm.

2. Serve while hot. Good with French bread and butter. Serves 4-6 people.
