TURTLE CAKE 
1 German chocolate cake mix
1 (12 oz.) pkg. caramels
1 can evaporated milk (not condensed)
1 stick butter
6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. pecan pieces

Mix 2/3 cup milk with butter and dry cake mix. Bake 1/2 of batter in an ungreased pan for 10 minutes. Cover baked cake with the chocolate chips and pecans. Melt caramels with remaining milk and spread over chips and pecans. Spread remaining cake batter over caramels. Batter will be very thick (drop by teaspoon and spread with fork). Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. DO NOT REFRIGERATE.
