GRANDMA'S CHEESECAKE | |
1/3 lb. graham crackers or vanilla wafers 1/3 c. sugar 2/3 stick butter, melted 1 pkg. lemon Jello 1/2 c. boiling water 1 can Carnation milk, chilled 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese 1 c. powdered sugar 2 tsp. vanilla Crumble crackers or wafers finely. Mix with sugar and butter. Grease a 11 1/2 x 15 inch or 9 x 14 inch pan. Save some of the above crumb mixture for the top and set aside. Put the rest of the mixture in the pan. Set aside. Mix Jello with the water and let cool. Beat in a large bowl the chilled Carnation milk until thick. Set in refrigerator. In smaller bowl beat cream cheese. Gradually add powdered sugar, and the vanilla. Gradually beat cheese mixture into the thick milk mixture. Add cooled Jello, beat and turn into the preferred pan. Top with rest of crumb mixture. Chill several hours. |
