RICE PUDDING, CREAMY 
5 1/2 tbsp. rice
3 tbsp. sugar
1 qt. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
Sprinkle on cinnamon or nutmeg
1/2 c. raisins, if desired

Grandma's recipe said to mix all ingredients in the top of a double boiler and set on the back of the stove for 3 hours.

Follow the same directions, but on lowest heat on our modern stove it may take less time.

It's the slow cooking that makes it so good. No double boiler? Put ingredients in a greased casserole in 250-350 degrees for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, stirring several times during baking.

Makes enough for 6-8 people.
