1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter (scant)
2 eggs
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. chopped pecans
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar, butter and eggs together. Add remaining ingredients. Fill unbaked tart shells and bake at 350 degrees F. 20-30 minutes depending upon size of shells. Miniature muffin tins can be used for "bite size" tarts.

TART SHELLS:

3 oz. pkg. cream cheese
1 stick butter
2 c. sifted flour

Soften cream cheese and butter. Mix. Add flour. Press into muffin tins. Makes 12 regular size or 24 miniature.
