FRUIT COCKTAIL DESSERT 
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Sift above ingredients together twice. Beat 1 egg and add to above mixture. Add 2 cups fruit cocktail (or pineapple) including juice (medium sized can). Stir lightly and pour into buttered 8 inch square pan. Sprinkle lightly with 1/2 cup light brown sugar and 1/2 cup walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Serve warm or cold with whipped cream.
