WHITE ACRE PEAS | |
1 qt. shelled, fresh or frozen peas 2/3 c. bacon drippings 1/2 tsp. sugar 4 chicken bouillon cubes 2 c. water 1/4 tsp. baking soda In Dutch oven, put water, bacon drippings, chicken cubes and sugar. Let come to a rolling boil. Add peas and let cook on high temperature until they come to a boil. Add baking soda, cook until tender (about 40 minutes). Have a kettle of hot water on stove and add water as needed. Should have about 1 cup of soup when done. |
