APRICOT-RAISIN SQUARES 
1 1/4 c. diced apricots
1 1/3 c. golden raisins
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. each cinnamon, allspice, cloves
3/4 c. butter (softened)
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 1/2 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. rolled oats

Chop apricots and place in saucepan with raisins and 3/4 cup cold water. Add lemon juice, cornstarch and spices. Cook over medium heat until thick. Remove from heat and cool. Preheat oven 375 degrees.

In large bowl cream butter and brown sugar. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Pat half the mixture into a greased 13x9 pan. Spread cooled filling over mixture.

Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture over filling. Pat down. Bake 22 to 25 minutes until top is crisp and brown. Slice into bars. Freezes well.
