LAYERED GREEN SALAD | |
1 sm. head lettuce, shredded fine 1 lg. white onion, sliced in rings 1 bell pepper, chopped fine Fresh mushrooms, sliced 1 c. celery, chopped 1 can water chestnuts, sliced 8 oz. frozen peas, thawed Make a layer of each ingredients. Mix 1 tablespoon sugar, 1 tablespoon pepper and 1 tablespoon salt. Put aside. After last layer of peas, cover with 1 pint mayonnaise. Sprinkle seasoning mixture on top of mayonnaise. Cover this with 1 cup grated Mozzarella cheese and 8 tablespoon Parmesan cheese. Cover with a lid or foil and let stand in refrigerator overnight. |
