1 c. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 egg
3 tbsp. milk or cream
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. unsifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream butter and sugar, beat in egg, cream, and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt until well mixed. If desired, chill dough for easier handling. preheat oven to 400 degrees. Roll out dough, one third at a time, on floured surface to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets. If desired, sprinkle with sugar. Bake 5 to 8 minutes or until golden brown. Makes about 72 cookies.
