SPAGHETTI PIE (ITALIAN -
AMERICAN)
 
6 oz. spaghetti, cooked and drained
2 tbsp. butter
2 eggs, beaten
1/3 c. Parmesan cheese
1 c. cream style cottage cheese, small curd
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
8 oz. can tomatoes, cut up
6 oz. can tomato paste
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 c. mozzarella cheese, shredded

Stir butter into hot spaghetti. Add beaten eggs and Parmesan cheese. Form this mixture into a crust in a greased pie pan. Spread with cottage cheese. In a skillet, cook ground beef, onion and green pepper until browned. Drain. Stir in tomatoes, paste, sugar, oregano and garlic salt. Heat thoroughly. Turn meat mixture into crust and spread. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and bake until melted, about 5 minutes.
