BAKED CLAMS 
4 doz. little neck clams
4 cloves garlic
3 cans tomato sauce
1/2 c. olive oil
1/2 c. bread crumbs
4 to 5 tbsp. locatale cheese

Crush garlic into warm olive oil and simmer 5 to 6 minutes. Do not brown. Add tomato sauce and simmer for 20 minutes. DO NOT BOIL. Remove from flame and cool for a few minutes. Add clams and let stand for a while. Mix bread crumbs and cheese and sprinkle over shells. Add teaspoon of sauce to shells. Fill each shell with a clam. Sprinkle again with bread crumbs and add teaspoon sauce. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
