SIX LOAVES OF BREAD | |
9 tbsp. sugar 3 tsp. salt 6 c. water (warm) 6 pkg. yeast or 6 tbsp. 3/4 c. oil 1 (5 lb.) bag Pillsbury bread flour In a very large bowl or a new dish pan, mix 6 cups of warm (not hot) water, 6 packages of yeast, sugar, then salt and oil. Next add flour a little at a time, until most or all of the flour is used. Let rise until double (approximately 1 hour). Remove from bowl, place on a floured surface and knead for approximately 3-5 minutes. Divide into 6 balls. Shape into loaves and place in greased pans. Allow to rise until double. Bake in a 400 degree oven for approximately 1/2 hour or until browned. You may cut this recipe down by dividing the ingredients by 1/2 or 1/3. The dough may also be formed into rolls. |
