RAISIN NUT COOKIES 
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. ground raisins
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. ground nuts

Mix all together and form dough into a ball. Press down with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 350 to 375 degrees.
