SAUERKRAUT CASSEROLE 
1 lg. can sauerkraut
1 c. tomato sauce
6 slices bacon
1 lb. ground beef
1 med. onion
1 c. uncooked rice
1/4 c. brown sugar

Cook bacon until crisp. Remove. Saute onion in bacon fat. Cut bacon into small pieces. Brown beef with onion. Add bacon. Cook rice as directed.

In casserole or 9x13 inch pan, put 1 layer rice, 1 layer meat and layer sauerkraut. Repeat. Top with tomato sauce and sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees.
