GRANDMA'S TEA CAKES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 egg, well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. milk
2 tsp. baking powder
2 1/2 c. plain flour

Combine sugar and molasses; mix well. Cream butter and sugar; add beaten egg, milk and vanilla; mix together dry ingredients and add to first mixture. Chill dough until firm enough to handle.

Roll onto floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with large cookie cutter. Bake on greased cookie sheet 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees. Place dough about 2 inches apart on cookie sheet for spreading.
