2 c. white sugar
2 c. white syrup

Boil together, stirring constantly. Boil to 300 degrees, hard crack. Add 8 teaspoons baking soda without lumps. Put it in all at once and stir up good, pour immediately into buttered cookie sheet. When cool, break in pieces and coat with 1 square of wax melted over hot water and 2 (12 oz.) packages chocolate chips.
