1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg

1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

2 c. flour
1/2 c. Baker's cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
1 3/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. baking powder

Can be doubled. Bake 6 to 11 minutes at 350 degrees.

CREAM FILLING (enough for double batch) :

5 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk

Cook in double boiler until thick like dough. COOL (very important).

1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat until creamy. Add flour - milk mixture. Beat until creamy.
