DEVIL DOGS 
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg

CREAM FILLING:

1/3 c. evaporated milk
2/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift first 6 ingredients into mixing bowl. Add next 4 ingredients and blend. Drop by teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart onto greased and floured cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes. Put 2 cookies together with the creme filling. Makes 2 dozen filled cakes.
