GREEN BEANS WITH ALMONDS AND
BACON
 
1/3 c. slivered almonds
6 slices bacon
1 lb. green beans
1 tsp. salt
1 c. water
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. pepper

Put almonds on cookie sheet. Bake 9 to 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Fry bacon and crumble. Put beans in saucepan, add salt and water. Bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer covered 10 to 15 minutes until cooked to your liking. Drain. Stir in almonds, butter, bacon and pepper. Serves 4.
