DELICIOUS APPLE TORTE 
2 c. flour
1/2 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. butter, melted
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
Vanilla
6 large apples, peeled and cut into small pieces

can substitute rhubarb for the apples

Mix flour, oatmeal, brown sugar and butter like a pie crust. Reserve one cup of the mixture. Line an oblong pan with the rest. Combine cornstarch, salt, sugar and water. Boil until it thickens. Flavor with vanilla. Place apples over the crust. Pour the cornstarch mixture over the apples and mix well. Pour into oatmeal lined pan and sprinkle crumbs on top. Bake at 350 degrees for about an hour.
