SIMPLE SOUTHERN SUPPER 
1 1/2 c. water
1/4 c. brown sugar
Dash of pepper
1 1/2 c. cooked, cubed ham
1 1/2 c. frozen okra, cut in 1 inch pieces
2 tbsp. cornstarch
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 c. (1 lg.) sweet potato, sliced thin
10 oz. can refrigerated flaky biscuits

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In an oven proof skillet, combine water and cornstarch. Cook until mixture boils and thickens. Stir constantly. Add brown sugar, lemon juice, pepper, sweet potato, ham and okra. Mix well. Simmer 5 minutes. Separate dough into 10 biscuits. Cut each in half. Place biscuit halves, cut side down, around outer edge of hot mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
