HAMBURGER CORN-PONE PIE | |
1 tbsp. melted shortening 1 lb. ground beef 1/2 c. chopped onion 1-2 tsp. chili powder 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 1/2 c. tomatoes 1 can (approx. 10 3/4 oz. size) pinto or kidney beans, drained 1/2 pkg. Jiffy Cornbread Batter Brown meat and onion in shortening. Add seasonings and tomatoes. Cover and let simmer over low heat for 15 minutes. Blend in beans. Pour meat mixtures into oiled 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Top with cornbread batter, spreading carefully with wet knife. Bake in hot oven (425 degrees) for 20 minutes. |
