WHEAT GERM MUFFINS 
1 well beaten egg
1/3 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. milk
1/3 c. melted shortening
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1 c. wheat germ

Beat together egg, sugar, milk and melted shortening. Mix in flour, salt and baking powder. Stir in wheat germ lightly. Fill greased muffin tins 2/3 full. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes. Makes 12 muffins.
