1/2 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. honey
1/2 c. milk
2 tsp. vinegar
2 1/2 c. sifted all purpose flour
Raisins, assorted candies, coconut
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Icing

Cream together shortening, brown sugar, and honey. Stir in milk and vinegar. Sift together dry ingredients; stir into honey mixture. Drop by tablespoonfuls about 2 1/2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Insert skewer halfway into each mound of cookie dough. Stagger rows to leave room for skewers. Use small spatula to spread dough if it separates. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes or until done. Decorate.
