CAKE POPS!
1 box cake mix - your flavor choice!(plus ingredients for cake mix)
1 container cream cheese frosting
2 packages (16 oz/each) Vanilla and/or Chocolate CANDIQUIK® Coating
1 package lollipop sticks
optional: decorative icings, candies and/or colored sugars

Prepare and bake cake mix as directed on box; cool completely. Crumble cooled cake into a large bowl. Mix thoroughly with frosting (it may be easier to use fingers to mix together). Roll mixture into quarter size balls and place on cookie sheet. Insert a lollipop stick into each ball; chill for approximately 2 hours. Melt CANDIQUIK® Microwaveable Tray according to directions on package. Dip cake pops in the melted CANDIQUIK®; place in styrofoam block or on wax paper until set. Decorate with icings, candies and colored sugars. Voila!!

TIP: If cake balls start to stick or get gooey when dipping, place the remaining cake balls in the refrigerator for 20-30 additional minutes.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.

Really great recipe!! Even the kids can help make this one!

The only advice I would offer is to make sure the little balls you make from the cake and frosting are very cold. I let them sit in the fridge for 30 min and then another 20 in the freezer...Because if not the are very delicate..Plus them being cold helps the chocolate harder faster.

In addition, I used whipped frosting and they turned out great...also I tried some chocolate almond bark..which is cheaper than candiquik were I am at and they turned out fine..However, I will admit candiquik has its own tray to microwave in so that is a plus for candiquik.

I can't wait to try other combos like white chocolate and red velvet cake or carrot cake!

Really tasty, cheap and fun!

What is candiquik? I could not find it by the baking chocolate.

This was the best for a birthday party! We made a "candy land" theme and use these "cake" suckers for decoration as well as dessert! Each child could have one of every flavor and type! It was perfect as well as cute! We used round Styrofoam balls and made sucker trees!

Another easy way is to use dounut holes with the candyquick. Ive used almond bark also. But they are always a hit! Starbucks makes really good ones too.

I loved this recipe!!! They turned out delicious!! However, I couldn't find Candiquik so I substituted it with chocolate chips and it turned out the same. You just need to work quickly so the chocolate doesn't harden. But other than that, they were a wonderful dish!! I took some to my aunt's Thanksgiving party and they were eaten right away!!
