RICE - BEEF CASSEROLE 
1 lb. rice
8 oz. tomato sauce
4 oz. canned mushrooms
1 sm. onion, chopped
1 lb. ground beef
1/8 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/8 tsp. red or black pepper

Cook rice according to package directions. Set aside. Saute onions with 1 teaspoon butter. Add ground beef. Brown and drain. Add remaining ingredients except rice. Simmer 15-20 minutes and add rice. Let mixture stand covered 10 minutes before serving.
