BREAD PUDDING | |
6 slices of day old bread 2 tbsp. melted butter 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 c. raisins 2 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 4 eggs Cut crusts from bread. Brush with melted butter. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon. Cut each slice in quarters. Arrange in 1 1/2 quart buttered baking dish in layers, sprinkling each layer with raisins. Beat eggs just enough to blend thoroughly. Stir in the 1/2 cup sugar, milk, and vanilla. Continue stirring until sugar is dissolved. Pour over bread and raisins. Set dish in pan containing hot water. Bake at 350 degrees for 55 to 60 minutes, or until knife inserted 1/2 inch into custard comes out clean. |
