MOSTACCIOLI 
1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. diced mushrooms (optional)
3 slices chopped bacon
1 tsp. salt
1/2 lb. ground pork
1 tbsp. sherry wine, optional
1/4 c. olive oil
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/2 onion, chopped
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1 (No. 2 1/2) can Italian style peeled tomatoes
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp. dried basil leaf
Grated Parmesan cheese

Mix ground beef, pork and a few pieces of onion. Heat bacon, in hot oil, add meat, remaining onion and mushrooms, stirring constantly, until well browned. Add tomatoes, bay leaf and basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste and simmer for 1 hour. if sauce becomes too thick, add water occasionally. Add tomato paste and sherry wine and simmer for another 15 minutes. Remove bay leaf. Cook mostaccioli according to package directions. Pour sauce over cooked mostaccioli and top with grated Parmesan cheese.
