“CINNAMON ADD A CRUNCH OAT TOPPING” IS IN:

CINNAMON ADD A CRUNCH OAT
TOPPING
 
1 1/4 c. Quaker oats (quick or old fashioned uncooked)
1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 c. butter, melted
few drops of vanilla (optional)
1/3 c. wheat germ or processed bran or nuts
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup flaked coconut or chopped nuts (optional)

In a large skillet (10 to 12 inch), mix all ingredients over medium heat until lightly golden brown, stirring constantly (about 5-7 minutes).

Spread mixture on an ungreased baking sheet until thoroughly cooled. Store in airtight container.

May be stored in refrigerator for up to 3 months. Use to sprinkle over yogurt, ice cream, puddings, fruit and salads.

Makes approximately 2 cups.

In a 10-inch skillet over medium heat, stirring constantly 5 to 7 minutes or until golden brown. Spread onto ungreased cookie sheet to cool. Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator up to 3 months.

This is a simple and terrific recipe. I always have some in my fridge, when it runs out I make more. I love fruit compote with Greek yogurt, chia seeds and this topping. I have it once to twice a day for breakfast and/or dessert. Sometimes I even plop the whole thing on warm, homemade rice pudding.
