COWBOY FRENCH TOAST BAKE 
thick-sliced bread (I use "Texas" toast)
5 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 cup brown sugar

In a greased 9x13-inch pan, cover bottom with sliced bread. Mix and add eggs, milk, vanilla and salt. Let it stand for several hours or overnight in refrigerator. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.

On stove-top, cook sugar, butter and brown sugar until melted and add to finished bake.
