FRIED OKRA 
3 lbs. fresh okra
2 eggs
3/4 c. white cornmeal
1/2 c. flour
Water
Salt & pepper

Wash and slice the okra. Beat eggs until frothy; add cornmeal and flour. Add enough water to make a thick batter. Add salt and pepper to taste. Drop in okra a handful at a time. Remove with slotted spoon and place in oil heated in a heavy skillet. Keep frying until brown on all sides, about 30 minutes. Serves 6 to 8.
