PUMPKIN CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. canned pumpkin
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice or 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. ground cloves & 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
3/4 c. milk
Butter Frosting Supreme, if desired

Preheat oven to 360 degrees. Grease and flour 12 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Cream butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in pumpkin. Mix and sift flour, salt, baking powder, soda, and pumpkin pie spice together. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk to creamed mixture, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake for about 50 minutes or until cake in center springs back when pressed with fingertip. Cool. Frost with Butter Frosting Supreme, if desired.
