FRUIT COCKTAIL BARS 
Grease and flour oblong pan (for cake).

In large bowl - 2 eggs, 1 1/2 cups sugar - beat until light and fluffy. Add 1 can large fruit cocktail (undrained) and mix.

2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat until well blended. (Use a wooden spoon for this.) Spread in pan (batter will be thin). Sprinkle 1 can coconut and 3/4 cup chopped nuts on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until done.

Just before cake is done, make topping.

3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 can evaporated milk (use 3/4+ can of milk)
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Boil 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Drizzle generously over cake. Cool and cut into bars.
