FRUIT AND NUT BAR COOKIES 
2 c. unsifted flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. vegetable oil
1/4 c. milk
1 (28 oz.) jar ready-to-use mince meat
1 c. chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In large bowl mix dry ingredients. Add oil and milk, stirring until mixture is moistened and crumbly. Reserve 1 cup mixture. Press remaining into 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish; spread with mincemeat. Sprinkle evenly with remaining (reserved) mixture and nuts. Bake 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into bars. Store, loosely covered, at room temperature.
