1 egg
1 c. milk
1 1/4 c. cornmeal
3/4 c. flour
5 tsp. baking powder
Salt to taste
Finely chopped onion to taste

Beat egg and add milk to egg. Add remaining ingredients and stir well. Drop by teaspoonfuls into deep boiling fat. Remove when golden brown and drain well before serving.
