FRESH APPLE CAKE 
1 c. cooking oil
2 c. sugar
3 c. plain flour
3 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 c. finely chopped apples
1 c. chopped nuts

Mix all ingredients and fold in apples and nuts. Bake in 9 x 13 inch pan 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

TOPPING:

1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 stick butter
1/4 c. canned cream (evaporated milk)
1 tsp. vanilla

Boil 2 minutes. Cool to lukewarm; beat until thick and spread on cake.
