CHEESE CRESCENTS | |
1 c. flour 1 stick (1/2 c.) butter 1 c. cottage cheese, divided 1/4 tsp. salt 1 egg In medium bowl, using your hands, mix together flour, butter, salt, and 1/2 cup cottage cheese. This mixture will be lumpy. Chill several hours or up to several days. Divide dough into thirds. On lightly floured surface, roll each third into a 10-inch circle about 1/8 inch thick. Mix remaining 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and 1 egg. Spread 1/3 of this mixture on each circle. Cut into 8 wedges. Starting from wide end, roll up each wedge. Place on greased baking sheet. Bake on top rack of preheated 400 degree oven for 18-20 minutes until golden. Remove to racks to cool. For variety, add 1 teaspoon of any variety of herbs to the cheese filling while mixing with the egg. |
